Constant refresh and unable to post from NNTP

Got the NNTP set up and all is visable (thank you Gérand)...nice'n clean on my Outlook Express...BUT....I can't reply or post from it. I get the following error message.

"Posting is not allowed to the newsgroup 'coreldraw_graphics_suite_product_family.coreldraw_graphicd_suite_X3'. Please remove ''coreldraw_graphics_suite_product_family.coreldraw_graphicd_suite_X3' from your newsgroups line."

Also, when I click on the link (to the actual message on the coreldraw.com page), or, the link on my "email notification of response"...the Forums page "just about" opens and then constantly refreshes (I thought that this problem was unique to me but I see that at least one other has the same problem)

NB: How does one post an attachment, screen / file pix etc. The "Help" page says I need permission....from who ? and how does one get it? (no info given)

When I clicked on "POST" , I got the constant refreshing again....did not have that problem yesterday (from within the corel.com forum page)

    Hello again,

I just posted this message using outlook Express. When you get the error
message, just say OK and post it anyway. I am looking into the reason behind
the error message, but it the mean-time, you can still post messages using
    an NNTP client.

Re: Constant refresh and unable to post from NNTP

    Edward,
I get the same constant refresh problem any time I try to go directly to
a post bypassing the full thread structure tree. Doesn't matter if I'm
using Mozilla or IE. Both do it. So far I haven't had the problem of
posting from the newsgroup using Mozilla's newsreader, but I do get the
refresh problem after posting from the web forum.
This message is being sent via Mozilla's NNTP.

Re: Constant refresh and unable to post from NNTP

    Hello Gérard,

Ok, strange thing happened. After I sent the message (clicking "ok") I've been unable to reply or create a post from Outlook Express (tried 4 times over 20 minutes).

Another thing...really strange. Although the accent....and misspelling of your name.....shows up here "correctly", my OE newsgroup reader shows it like this: GÀ@rand.

Don't ya just love computers !

Yes, yours' was the post that I had read , having the same problem as me with the constant refreshing. I couldn't remember who the other post was from when I posted Gérand.

I'm getting that "refresh" problem now no matter where I make the post or reply from (NNTP or web page). Now I can't get a post or reply thru the NNTP at all. Just took a look at the NG reader to see if my last reply to Gérard (via the CorelDRAW.com web page) showed up. It did, but now his name shows up like this :GÀ@rand

Like I said in my reply to him:

    "Don't ya just love computers"

Wish I could post a pix.....would like to show you what my Avitar really looks like. We have fun (mostly work, but definitly some play there as well) in the PhotoPAINT NG (cnews.corel.com). That image was made by another NG user and "modified" by several.

The OE newsgroup reader does not like your name Gérard. Here is what it looks like when viewing my reply to Val (compare it to the reply shown here in the corelDRAW forum. You will see that it has changed yet again)

    Hello all,

I am looking in the NNTP issues (accents and Outlook Express error message)... over the next few days, this service won't be available all the time, and I'll post back in this thread once it works.

Regarding the refresh issue, please make sure that you have Javascript and cookies (from this site) turned on. Can you also try to clear your browser cache. I haven't been able to reproduce this problem yet, but I'll continue investigating. Here are a few things I would appreciate if you could try (one at a time please so that you can tell me which one solved the problem, if any):

    • Can you also try to change your content editor in your profile to use "Plain Text" instead of Standard or Enhanced?
    • Please also try to disable the " Enable Post Mouse-Over Popup" option in your profile if it is enabled?
    • Can you try to disable the "Enable Collapsing Panels" option in the profile?
    • Have you changed the Forum Post Default View setting from "Flat View" to "Threaded View"?

I am continuing the investigation on my side. Once we get this solved, I'll update the help to get all the details there for everyone.

Re: Constant refresh and unable to post from NNTP

Thanks for working on this! Flat view was the only thing that helped and
that's really not an option for me. I'd appreciate your continued
    efforts. Specifics below:

    OK
    Clearing Cache does not help.
Cookies were set on Default. Changing them to always accept cookies from
    this site did NOT help.
Plain text setting does not help.
Enable Post Mouse-Over Popup has been disabled all along.
Disabling the "Enable Collapsing Panels" does not work.
Yes, I was using Threaded View. Changing to Flat View DOES work. (I
really prefer a threaded view if you can get that working, though.
Otherwise I'll only be working from NNTP and not from the web. My mind
has never been able to handle a flat view forum. I know. I'm handicapped
    that way.)

    Thanks!
