So I'm creating some interface elements in Draw, and the shadow transparency blend settings always go out the window when I try to export my art as any type of bitmap. It just flips back to "Normal" regardless of what I've set it to be. Is this a known issue?

I can post attachments if necessary...

Thanks,
Addison

OK, let's see...

See if this helps. I'm trying to use "If Darker" to get a really subtle upper shadow on the text, but it always flips back to "Normal" (or possibly "Multiply") when I export as any type of bitmap.

HI, try a normal export, CTRL+E and see if there is a difference.

Yep, it appears to do the same thing on any type of export, whether it be for web or using Control+E. I've tried PNG, TIF, and JPEG so far...

OK, maybe post one button as CDR

my tests:

in X5 without "new" export preview

result on disk. shadow a little glitchy, but there.

export from X5 with "new" export preview. shadow still there.

Only thing I can suggest is a reset to workspace...

Note: for shadows I use sancho's commercial prog.

Awe, man -- looks like the same results I'm getting. Maybe the drop shadow will get overhauled in X6. And I've checked out Sancho's shadow macro more than once. It just gets me down that Draw's doesn't work as it should...

Thanks for your time and help, Jeff.

Try multiply mode instead

Yeah, I'm not giving up yet. But I'll most likely go back to Expression Design for stuff like this for now...

A little late to the party but I broke apart the drop shadow and
converted it to a transparent bitmap, then applied multiply mode to the
bitmap and set the transparency to an appropriate level. Finally
exported as a png file. Result is attached at 96 dpi. Is this closer to
the expected result?

Yep -- that's the output I'd expect. But the real point is having these effects work as they should, plus I'd like to keep my text editable without having to re-apply this effect every time there's a text edit. I guess it's more of a workflow thing...

I don't see it as a workflow problem. I see it as a export problem that
should be fixed. I'm only suggesting a work around so you don't have to
switch to some other program while waiting for Corel to get around to
fixing the code. Your expectations of how the export should look is
correct in my opinion. Hopefully Corel also sees it that way.

Thanks, Steve -- I agree with you.
