Is it possible that I can open a bitmap present in a coreldraw file in photoshop, edit it there and it gets back to its original position. that is the thing for which corelphoto paint gets opened, i can set Adobe Photoshop for editing images?

Yes, you can edit bitmaps in PhotoPAINT and/or Photoshop since they are real bitmaps (jpg, tiff, bmp, png... etc.).
If bitmap is placed into CorelDRAW, select it, click on BITMAP > EDIT BITMAP (this action opens PhotoPAINT).
If you prefer edit in Photoshop, select your bitmap and export it. Open your exported bitmap in Photoshop.
Once done and saved in Photoshop, import it to CorelDRAW.
To replace imported image at same position:
1. click on both imagem (hold down Shift key)
2. for centering, press "C" and "V". (delete original bitmap and keep your edited bitmap).

I believe 9if memory serves) someone created a macro or something for this. My question is why? Simply use Photo-PAINT for most edits it's all you'lleed, i do all my pre-press corrections in PP.

rock1:Is it possible to send a bitmap inside coreldraw file to photoshop, edit it there, and save it back to it's original position?
Yes, with rastercontrol, a commercial macro. Some transformations are preserved too.
notice how you can send many images at once, into one PS instance.

If you would like to use PhotoShop, there is a macro that will let you round trip like you wish:
Hope that helps,

also, if you import the image as "externally linked image" you can use Photoshop as internal editor

I used this method but the image resolution goes down. What should i do?

Go to the Windows Registry (Start / run / Regedit) and search for
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\CorelDRAW\(aqui la version que uses)\Draw\Application Preferences\Bitmaps
then change PreviewResolution from 45 dpi to 150 or what you want
so, is it not possible that the bitmap shows up with its original resolution always??. like a 200dpi shows up as 200 only. just like regular "drag and drop bitmaps" do the bitmaps resolution always vary and it's not possible to change registry everytime.
True David. I never had to install any other bitmap editing application as PP does almost everything that I need in my bitmap editing work.

Still hoping to use PS, round-trip, with CorelDRAW? See how easy it can be...
rock1:edit it there and it gets back to its original position
I find there are some occasions where editing an image in X4, even in photopaint, causes the image to lose some transforms that have been applied to the image.
I don't recall the exact circumstances, and usually an external edit will preserve an image's physical size and positon. But I have also found many occasions where I edit an image externally several times and every time it reverts to some sort of "standard" size rather than its previous one.
For the above, I don't think it will make any difference whether the external editor is photopaint or something else, because it is likely to be CorelDraw which is losing the correct size transform and not the external editor.

if you place as "externally linked image", all bitmaps have the same preview. it doesn't change the real resolution, it's only how you see it on screen.
Ah ... missed that the first time round and I was taking your "size" question in the opening post to refer to display/print size rather than resolution.
The answer to that is probably good news. When you place an image in CorelDraw, it preserves all the pixels and continues to do so even if you subsequently enlarge or reduce it within CorelDraw. Consequently, you can edit it in an external program and you will get all the original pixels.
You may find this more convenient than external linking, unless you are intending to use the image in several different documents and want to be able to update them all at the same time.

hey jeff!!..did you assign your own custom command here on the button or that raster control macro...?
