Hello juzer; Are you using "Font Nav."? I have noticed some of the "OT" fonts take longer than "TTF's" ( I don't use the OT's ).

If you have a lot of fonts installed that will slow your machinn down

Have a look and if you have over 300 fonts installed un-install some of them, as George suggested use Bitstream Font Navigator.

it will help you  to go to "Tools/Options/Workspace/Text/Fonts" and have "Use font to display font name" unchecked.

Are any of your fonts on a remote drive? Perhaps, a removable drive or one that no longer exists?

Just check for the fonts that you have not used for last whole year. And you'll know if you really need them or not.Big Smile

You can surely keep the fonts on the system but install only when required. Use font navigator to manage the fonts.

You don't need to delete any, just move most of them to a different folder and ask font navigator to add them to its libray. But leave the standard windows fonts in c:\windows\fonts for programs that don't co-operate with font management programs.

If CorelDraw opens a file that contains uninstalled font in the fontnav library, those fonts will automatically be installed while the file is open. So, you can minimise your installed fonts without preventing you from opening documents that need other fonts.

First, I’ve net met a user who NEEDS 2500+ INSTALLED fonts. I wrote a post this week addressing the problem.

I have visited an ad agency where they had over 9000 yes 9000 fonts installed on three machinesIndifferent. Totally messed up, un maintained systems with lots and lots of issues. And the users said they needed all the fonts. I don't know if they followed my suggestion or not but I have not received any call from them lately.
