The simplify command is needed quite often for me when separating colors for screen printing, especially so I can set traps and/or chokes properly and keep the graphic from going to photoshop (to separate in channels). I rarely use or pay attention to layers in Draw (using X5 btw), but sometimes when rearranging what I see visually (ordering), I get an error/warning that the element will have to be moved to a different layer to change it's order.  I say continue, and go along with my job.

So, just now, while in Photoshop, it occurred to me that possibly the reason why the simplify command rarely works in Draw, is that the some of the elements are on the same layer???

When I use the simplify command, sometimes it works, but often, it leaves uncut objects or worse....crashes draw.

It's amazing after all these years, the things that I still learn in Draw and over the past year, I've been able to stay in Draw much more than in the past (over going into photoshop).

Looking for answers on the simplify/layers correlation.  Any help?

Thanks,

Scott
