    Macros/Scripts

I don't know macros well at all. I need a way to create macros for saving and exporting to GIF and JPEG with different options. We create several ads for clients every three months. Several at a time. Looking for a way to make the process faster.

I have searched, asked questions, etc. Not having much luck. I thought I would try here.

    Anyone?

    Re: Macros/Scripts

Your post finally prompted me to look into a site that's been touted by Jeff Harrison and Foster Coburn called MacroMonster http://macromonster.com/index.php?pageNum_rs_products=2&mod=products&id=9. It's a website with macro utilities for Corel. I was thinking the same earlier this week, when saving a client's design to multiple formats and just how much time I spent on this was ridiculous! It appears that this macro is more of a batch process for multiple pages however. What you and I are talking about (I think) is a macro that allows multiple options on each selected format simultaneously (e.g. jpg=72 dpi RGB, tif=300 dpi CMYK, etc.). Anyway this macro is called wOxxOm Multipage Export to Bitmaps. I guess give it a try and see if it fills the need. I'm impressed with some of the other macros and definitely will spend more time researching.

I appreciate the response and info. I downloaded the macro you linked to. I wanted to see if I could modify it to fit my needs. Wow, lot's of stuff in that thing. Too much for my little brain.

I would love to have a button or keystroke that would just export as...and have all the settings for that type of export and then be done and move to the next file. Not sure it's even possible.

     Please help.

Hi Alex Vakulenko is the most knowledgable CDR macro guy there is.  You can learn a LOT from his forums at www.oberonplace.com

It's been a while since my original post but we are discussing this macro thing again.

Anyone know if the latest version of Corel has better and easier scripting for us to accomplish the above goal? (exporting different file types from one Corel file with a button or keystroke) We are using Version 11.

Re: Macros/Scripts - go to OberonPlace

Since my last post I tried using this macro too, unfortunately it wasn't what I had expected (it's still a great macro), but like you I think what I expected was more control over exporting one specific file into many different formats each with they're own set of options. When I provide the client with say a logo, I will do so in different formats for his in-house docs, web and printing (e.g. wmf, jpg, tif, pdf). I would also think it helpful if there was an option to open the conversions to inspect before sending on (maybe an import option after all the converting). Preparing that cd can be monotonous and timely.

I'm no assistance with your question, but please keep me informed on your discovery.

Hi Os (WoxxOm) hangs around on OberonPlace, but I have never seen him here.  He is usually very interested in any and all comments.  I have seen him customize things more than once.  He also makes reasonable enhancements that improve his products very quickly.

Look for his posts in the CorelDRAW / Designer VBA forum.

That's right Jeff! And what a solution! All we are having to do now is either click a button, or if we choose, a keystroke. It's really quick and saves us a lot of time going through menus, changing settings and going through all the dialog boxes.

We have some more things for Jeff once we accomplish some other software upgrades. Then they will do their magic for us once again.

    Thank you Jeff and MacroMonster.com
