 I agree with you.

I have to go to the other software to use it.... I hate the other software!

Hi,

I agree that it's important to have this kind of tool. I use Squizz from older version of PP, I dropped it into X3/X4 plugin folder and it works.

Look for this file in older versions such as PP 9: SQUIZZ91.eff

I have found 3 kind of usable "warp tools" in PP X4 but it may be more ;-)

- Distort, Mesh Warp - is the most useful

- 3D effects, Pinch / punch - may be good if I learn to use it right... Did just got the idea that it would be VERY good, if you can first point and then adjust the strength (type the other way around) if that is possible ;-)

- Distort, Shear - If you just want to bend something

** But I am really missing a "point an edge and drag" tool, with adjustable "effect width" that FIRST make an "auto mask" (of the difined width) along the edge you point at, with a centre node and two side nodes, so you easy can adjust edges anyway you like and type drag the edge over the background...

I would also love to have a Liquify function. I use it a lot nowadays with PS.

Or you could just use Painter which covers most of those effects and then some.

As said before parts of Painter would make a great plugin for PS & PP.

I don't think there is better warping option in Painter. It only has Image Warp and quick warp.

Yeah, I agree. Fortunately Squizz works in PP X3 & X4 (snagged from ver 9 of PP)

Squizz is still available from Human Software. as for the Liquid Lens in Painter, it's lousy. hard to use and has bad distortion rendering. PS Liquify is the smoothest most useful tool. Corel has KPT so it would be great if they integrated it into the Painter tool set rather than as a plugin with different interface

KPT won't install into Vista or so Corel tells me. Gee, how hard can it be
for them to update the installer?

More software bought by Corel and let to rot... I hope not.

I always liked KPT -- hope it is at least made compatible with vista and future OSes even if the effects do become more "retro" over time vs. cutting edge like at first.

One thing you can try is using the Smear Tool. Set the drop-down box to Large Pointy Smear and experiment with which part of the brush you use to push the image where you want it. Don't use the edge of the circle (brush cursor) to warp your image, use nearer to the centre of the circle. The part of the cursor you use has an impact on the strength of the effect. Also, push in small dabs and work along an edge bit by bit.

You may get a surprise how well the tool works once you get used to it.

Best regards,
Brian.

I also love the liquify function but these days am not able to work with it and constantly getting problems with it. That's why now I am thinking to get pmi certification  and now preparing for 70-297 and 70-291 exam. Why dont you check it out?
