Windows XP-SP3 seems to have cured the error when exiting Ventura

Geee-- it only took Willy Gates about 3 years to correct his last
service pack which gave a (usually) innocuous error when exiting Ventura
(and several/many other programs from other vendors).

Since XP-SP3 did that FOR me, I await with trepidation to see what
XP-SP-3 will do TO me.......... So far so good though.

    Intel, Ted.

I think the AMD/SP-3 horror stories are confined to certain pre-loaded Windows systems which had Intel power management software on an AMD MoBo--yet another reason for not buying off-the-shelf computers, especially those from "major" brands. Not sure if Willy Gates addressed the problem before he "quit" M$. (He is still Chairman of the Board, which does not meet my definition of having left the company. But maybe Board Chairmen worry only about profits. :-) )

    Hello Paul,

The BIG problem is that the XP SP3 drivers consider all the AMD processors to be the new Phenom class ones. Anything previous will run at 100% + all the time, increasing the heat and slowing to mud everything you' ve got running...and no...Willy has not addressed it ! ALso messing up a lot of video cards on AMD jobs.
