    TIFFs hanging in Windows Vista

Can someone help me with a stability issue between X3 photopaint and Windows Vista (32bit)?

When I try to open a 1bit black & white TIF (Group 4; not compressed; typically only about 1.5MB in size) Photopaint hangs without opening the image. I've updated both SP1 & SP 2 and have installed X3 with the default settings. A copy of the Windows error message:

    Description:
A problem caused this program to stop interacting with Windows.

    Can anyone suggest a solution?

    Thanks,

    Jim

Open the Tiff in another application and resave it to Tiff or another format that PP could read.
