How can I turn off the "default style" warning dialog?

Hi! Just wondering... Is there a way to bypass or turn off the warning dialog you get when changing the default line/fill color or text style in CorelDraw? It gets rather annoying... Sad

I'm currently using Draw 11, but plan to upgrade soon.

    Thanks!

I dont agree. Changing defaults is not a function that is regularly used. Changing the defaults must have a double check so that it is not used or set by mistake. Annoyance once a while is ok with me.

I like to choose the line and fill colors before creating a shape. However, when you change the line or fill color without anything selected, the dialog comes up. I was just asking if there was a way to bypass the dialog. Apparently, there isn't.

Anand, I can understand that it wouldn't be a good idea to change the defaults without warning in a work environment. However, I'm a home user and the only person using CorelDraw, so that wouldn't be a problem for me. It just adds extra time.

    Hey PixelDust!

Nope, I don't think you can bypass that (unless one of the macro wizards on this forum have a solution).  I think it's set up that way so you can set the default once before you draw and it will automatically repeat those choices every time you draw an object.  Selecting fill and line colors before you draw just allows you the option to change the defaults.  I've never found this to be a problem and just except it as the way Corel works.  Changing things is so simple it just never occurred to me that it should work any other way.

Still, I'll bet one of those wizards could give you tips on a macro that would work around that.

    Hi R,,

I used the see that stupid pop up daily, then after a few years read what said. :-)

Now, I hardly see it since I don't adjust colors or outline parameters etc without a shape selected first.

    Jeff,

You have the same problem I have (it seems).  Takes me a couple of years to read the instructions, as well Big Smile .

    Hey Jeff,

Just noticed that you changed your avatar... very cool. I can't tell (small image) if you drew the hands or if they are part of the photo.  I'll miss your smiling face, though.

Re: display the view in CMYK

    Hi Jawaidkhan!

I'm not sure how your post ended up in this thread (some server error, I would guess), but I believe that your monitor will only display RGB.  CMYK displays are approximated to view on your monitor.  I'm also guessing that this is not an adequate answer to your question.  Wiser people than I have posted quite a bit about color management on this forum.  This link will take you to a page of forum discussions on the subject:

    http://coreldraw.com/search/SearchResults.aspx?q=color+management

If you look through these, I feel sure you will find the answer.

    Best of luck!

    Rob
