How to combine dotted and full lines?

    Hi there!

I drew a shape using the pen tool. It consists of four different lines. Two of them are dotted, the others are full. When I try to combine them it sets the property of all lines the same, i.e. all lines are suddenly dashed. How can I therefore merge that combination of dottet / full lines to one object in order to fill the resulting area with a color?

    Many thanks in advance!

Try the option of Convert outline to object under Arrange (OR CTRL+Shift+Q) & then combine those. Note that once converted, the lines do not remain outlineslines.

    HI Anand!

Thanks for your answer. I tried your approach and get an object with the combination of dotted and full lines. The thing is, however, that I can't fill the resulting white area between the lines now.

Also, I'd like to join the mid-points of the end-nodes of each line in order to get proper corners. This doesn't work either.

Do you have any other idea?

use the smart fill tool and click on the white area. this should give you a closed object you can fill.

    or

break apart the image. move the top graphic to backa nd select the "new" top image and fill with your color

honestly, using corel draw is an adventure. have you explore using powerclip? it's a useful tools.  in your case you can make two shape. one with solid lines and a  dashed outlined object. and put the dashed outlined object to the solide outlined object. i hope it works with your case.

as mentioned; I would "group" them and use the "smart fill" to create another "filled" object with no outline and send it behind the group.
