Until the experts answer, I will answer to you...
Of course, many things of CorelDRAW CAN and MUST get better. Hopefully we can see something of that in X5. Meanwhile, you have a workaround to select similar objects: Edit Menu / Find and replace / find objects / select objects that match the currently select object
If you only want select y color, deselect the "Object type" box.
There is a great quantity of options, which you can prove according to
what you need.
Of course, I want it to be a docker, which to allow dag-and-drop the desired object, or which to have an eyedropper to be able to select more easily.
But, really, it is only to improve the interface and to facilitate the accessibility, because the basic options already are present.
Another question:
how do you think that it can interpret the program which is the property of the object that you want, with the right button? For example, for the option "Delete all but leave one"...
how do we know which is the object to preserve? In the same way.. when you talk about selecting similar objects with the right button of
the mouse... how you can establish in that which aspect is similar? It
can be the same type of fill, the same color, the same outline, the
same attributes (overprint, for example) and many more.
