I have a friend that is 90+ years old and is the editor for an alumni newsletter. Since the newsletter must be submitted to the printer electronically; I help him do the layout. He has 2 computers, one with Ventura 4.1 and the other with Ventura 10.
He is used to working in Ventura 4.1 and does the initial layout of each story in 4.1 on letter size paper. I move the story over to Ventura 10 about do the final layout on tabloid size paper. Both machines are running Windows XP.
The problem is that he bought a new letter size HP 4 in 1 printer and is now crashing Ventura 4.1 when he tries to print. I seem to remember that he had this problem when he bought his last printer, but I can't find the solution I used then. I don't have the error code with me now, but will post it later. Might have something to do with the scanning feature of the printer. 4.1 is loaded as a minimum install with no scanneror separations, and is running in Windows 95 compatibility mode.
And, yes I have tried to get him to work only in Ventura 10, but he is set in his ways.
Any ideas?
