    Moving to the PC world

    To All

i'm currently deciding to make my next computer workstation a Windows based PC and in doing so i'll be leaving my G5 Mac behind. It'll primarily be used for graphics, art creation, webdesign and giclee printing. I'm also looking at getting into the latest CorelDRAW Suite and Painter X as my primary creative tools along with Photoshop and Dreamweaver.

I have to say that i've only been a Mac user and this will be my first time at working on Windows so if anyone has any suggestions about things to look out for or prioritize please let me know. for instance : XP or Vista? and, does Vista allow for font resizing on the GUI, or is this only available on XP?

    Thanks

    Ghi

Yes, Vista allows for font-resizing on the GUI.

XP is no longer available as an installed OS although you can get a 'back-grade' to it from some manufacturers.

If you are MAC now, you will probably like the interface better in Vista. XP is a 7-year mature operating system and quite robust.

    If Vista,

Processor, RAM, Graphics Card are all critical to Vista performance.  3GB of Ram is key to success. 2 will run, 4 will sing but 3 gets the job done. Just my opinions.
