I've seldom used my CorelDraw GS X3 software.

1 - Can it be used to draw illustrations that look hand drawn?

2 - Is there a way to draw such that it looks like it was drawn with a pencil or charcoal?

3 - Can you create shapes or objects with splines or many nodes so that you can nudge them into the shape you want? (Good way to create character and/or object illustrations for people who can't draw :)

Thanks for any help

Use CorelDRAW. Try the polyline tool, then press F10 on the shape and nudge away.

 Jeff,

Don't think you can "nudge" your shapes in Photo Paint... can you?

I was hoping to do all.. hand-drawn-look & pencil/charcoal-look-drawing such that the shapes could be nudged around to get the exact shape... or change in shape... I wanted.

Can I draw in Corel Draw.. get the shape I want... then import into Photo-Paint & give it the hand drawn & pencil/charcoal look?

AND... the "poly-line tool won't let me create soft curved shapes... like a characters face, or body, or features. I also tried the Bezier Tool but it is hard to handle and get the shape you want without a lot of work.

Hash's Animation Master is a 3D package that uses "Splines" to draw... and it works quite well... but we don't want 3D or Animation for this project.

With splines you just click out your rough shape... then push the nodes around and it creates nice smooth edges for you... no messing around with the directional arrows like on a Spline Tool.

Thanks for the help.

you can draw components on different layers, then combine later as required. Or keep in layers, but export as flattened image.

keep mouse button held as you draw to get curves. Also try the Pen Tool - both are similar.
