The polo shirts are our best selling products and outsell the traditional dye sub shirt by a factor of 8 to 1. You can see both of them at http://www.delphic.com/boeingb52.html . The design is a large collage of the same elements as in the t-shirts and mugs but are without the fills. I first created line drawings of the B-52 elements for both shirts. I then added gradient fills to one version of the drawing and arranged the elements in a collage in another version. The polo shirt brings in much more revenue dispite the fact that it is significantly easier to draw. I expect the same results with my next project, the Essex Aircraft Carrier (http://www.delphic.com/essex-class-aircraft-carrier-polo-shirt.html) .

The cutaway is created from over 3,000 original Supermarine construction blueprints and photographs. The left hand side of the cutaway shows the exterior view of The Old Flying Machine Company's Spitfire Mark IX (MH434) as it was in 1943. The right hand side exposes all of the inner workings of a Spitfire such as the Rolls-Royce Merlin 63 engine, flight controls, radios, etc. Also included are the topview of the aeroplane to depict the wings and the frontview to, hopefully, the depict how the Spitfire was seen in the Luftwaffe pilot's rearview mirror.

P-51 Mustang Cutaway Polo Shirt

The cutaway drawing was originally done in CorelDraw 10, the current version at the time the drawing was made.

A new wrinkle on a very old process allows us put our line drawings on polo shirts. A laser etches our cutaway drawing on a block that is then used to stain a pattern on to a shirt, like old woodblock printing of yesteryear. The effect is a subtle yet incredibly detailed depiction of an engineering drawing arranged over the whole shirt. The lines of the drawing are the original color of the shirt while the background is washed out.

Left and right sides of WWII Army Motorcycle

The rugged frame, drum brakes, basic suspension, and large, manual gear shift is a big contrast to today's bikes.

Spitfire Cutaway

The cutaway is created from over 3,000 original Supermarine construction blueprints and photographs. Every model is constructed with six layers of basswood that are mounted on a baltic blue matte board and sealed behind glass in a cherry finish hardwood frame.
