Robosapien

Another favorite toy robot of mine is the Robosapien. Quite complicated...it is an interactive robot toy that can pic up things, throw them, dance, talk to others of its kind...all kinds of cool stuff. I hesitated to draw him because I was afraid I was not going to be able to really show the round parts. But I thought I would give it a shot, and it worked.

Another Robby Robot

The companies that make the new retro tin robots like to milk the dies they use to press the tin. This is a perfect example. THe body is the Planet Robot, or Robby the Robot. They press out a different head, and you have a different robot. In fact he is referred to as Robby Robot with Cylindrical Head. I like doing these, especiall the black ones, because I like trying to reproduce the light reflection so even if all black there is a lot of white and light gray in them.

An early Japanese tin robot. From what I understand, it was the inspiration for Mr. Machine. Very complicated draw...all the lithography on the robot had to be reproduced. It can be fun, but also tedious.

Munsters Cars

I did this Munsters Koach a while ago...but I added the Dragula Dragster and Herman to the drawing. It was a photo of Herman, and I tried to stylized it. It worked....I think.

A Charlie Brown Christmas

Though not really a scene from the show...Pepperment Pattie and Marcie were not there. But it was a cute drawing I found in really pixly quality, so I redrew it and cleaned it up. Thw was also an experimeint. Instead of drawing all the stars and snowflakes, I used the bubble fill and learned how to change the size and amount of bubbles and it worked as snow and stars.

What I LOVE about Corel is the way you can make things look as good as a photograph, and yet do a simple line drawing of a cartoon character and it looks that good.

I am surprised at all the requests I get for this and the downloads it got. Problem is, whenever I look at the original, I see a lot of the amateur mistakes I made. So I redrew some characters, fixed others, and added another and came up with this new and improved version. I exported it in high resolution as well as making it in a wide screen monitor format. My Christmas present to you. Oh, and to those who already downloaded it...I screwed up. I did Sam's beard in a different file and failed to import it. So here it is fixed. And at the high resolution as promised.

In the Empire Strikes Back, after Luke gets attacked by the wampa, which is how they explain his scarred face after his car accident, this droid, 21B, is the medical droid that puts Luke back together.

A New Muppet...80's Robot

Kermit's driver in the new movie is a new muppet called 80's Robot. He is based on the old omnibot from Tomy of the eighties, thus the name.

Treadwell Droid

I have wanted to draw one of these for a while, but I had no idea what it was called to find a pic to draw from. By chance I found him on a website named a Treadwell droid...I don't know why but here it is. Very tricky to draw with all the arms and to make sure they were in proper position in order of recession towards the back.

Various Lightsabers

When I first saw STAR WARS, I never realized the drastic differences in the lightsabers. Apparently everyone has their own unique one, very nicely designed too. they really do not look like some flashlight bought at the hardware store, which is what I used in my first Darth Vader costume.
