Lower left, TOS Phaser, top, Star Trek III Phaser, bottom right, Star Trek I and II phaser, though it never showed up in the first film. This one was designed to actually come apart...at the line. Like the original TV series phaser, you have phaser one. To increase the strength, you put it in the pistol grip and have phaser two. I believe the top one is designed that way also with a newer, more updated hand phaser one snapped in the top.

By the way, this is an updated pic of an earlier one. In the original I only had three, but since I did multiple Tricorders, I redid this incorporating my latest and some of my early work with the Pike's Laser gun and the TNG phaser...both very early in my Corel experience. I will modify them soon. Interesting point too...you notice that all the phasers from the original series on have that same design aspect...the long back, almost lobsided. At the time, not the conventional point and shoot look. They did maintain that even in the new movie which I did like. However I always felt that even though designed in the sixties, the original phaser can stand up to today's high tech sci fi designs. I don't understand why they didn't use them in the film...just one of my many gripes of that movie, even though I DID like it.

U.S.S. Excelsior. This ship first appeared in Star Trek 3: The Search for Spock. It was known as "The Great Experiment." The original idea in the Star Trek arc was to have Kirk find Spock, save the world and then be awarded the Excelsior. Fans weren't thrilled with that idea. So under pressure of the fans, the powers that be decided to give back a Constitution class sharship and number it NCC-1701/A. But the Excelsior went on to become Captian Sulu's ship, a then modified to become the Enterprise B. This ship appeared in the Next Generation and other incarnations of Star Trek.

AMT USS Enterprise Model Box Art

This is my tribute to the AMT USS Enterprise, a model which I have built numerous times over my growing up. The second issue of this kit included lights and a photograph of the finished model on the cover, which AMT continued to use until the nineties. I drew this based on that photograph, and tried to duplicate the lit up nacell caps that the photo had, as well as the lit upper and lower sensor arrays. This model was highly innacurate including a very large and extnded deflector dish in the front, which I tried to duplicate here as well. In the nineties, AMT dumped this photo for a painting. Recently they reissued the kit but in the very first box art. So this may be lost forever.

Klingon Phaser

This weapon ended up being the Klingon phaser. It was originally used in the Taste of Armageddon episode of the Classic Star Trek. It was spiffed up, modified some and given to the Klingons. Interesting design which was essentially carried over to the movies. Though the movie phasers looked very different, they still had the look.

Bottany Bay

This is the Bottany Bay. It is the sleeper ship used by Khan and his people to escape the eugenics wars on earth in the nineties. The ship was found by Kirk, and Khan was awakened. He showed his gratitude by taking over the Enterprise and almost killing Kirk. Kirk left him and a traitorous crew member on Ceti Alpha 5, which eventually made Khan angry leading to the movie, Star Trek II, the Wrath of Khan.

U.S.S.
