The Vector Jedi
View Sizes View Details
No EXIF data is available

I was inspired by the works of Phil Hale and John Foster and I have made everything completely different to what I've learned about composition, perspective, viewpoint, viewangle, colors etc. But I am happy with the result. This work was entirely done in Draw, with sketches done in Photopaint. Heavy use of meshfill tool. To watch the tutorial of this piece: http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=6UvuMfjWbwI

Update: At least I wasn't happy with the background, and I have added some ArtisticMedia stokes to bring out the painted look. This is my Contribution to the spanish contest "Concurso de Diseño 2008". Thanks to Ariel for the Link/Invitation!

Thanks Anhen, thanks Sector6. Actually, "beatdown" with a small digital pen. Haha, like a Vector Jedi would do. (Its the wrong direction for the tablet...) LOL

Thanks a lot. It's difficult to work intuitively with meshfill. That's the reason why I use sketches. So it's not so difficult to use that tool: I've thrown in some comments, did you read them? Might them be helpful...

Mo, the more I look at this the more it reminds me of the work of an American Painter, Thomas Hart Benton.  The way you model and illuminate the figure in this illustration is very similar to his.

@ PommyJosh: Thanks a lot, dude!

@ Inspire2Reflect: Vector Jedis are always clairvoyants! Just Kidding...I appreciate your comment!

@Ted: I took a look at the works of T.H. Benton: But I would never want to compete against such a talent of his field. Great Honour to me, thank you.

@ ptama: Dziękuję za miłą wiadomość!

@ Babiebayo: Thank you too. Greetings to Nigeria!
